Decadence Arizona took place last weekend on Sun., Dec. 30 & Mon., Dec. 31st, and brought in New Year 2019 with great vibes and energy. There is nothing better than ringing in a fresh New Year with the good beats, pretty lasers, and your best friends, assuring you happiness and positivity to start off the new 2019 year.
The event took place at the Rawhide Events Center in Phoenix, Arizona. There was a bit of rain, but that didn’t stop anyone from having a good time as all of the stages were covered by massive tents and kept warm. Traffic on average took about 45 min to get in, & 1 hour to leave.
Saturday night headliners included Dr Fresh, San Holo, Skrillex, Rezz, Porter Robinson, Above & Beyond, & more on the Diamond Atrium (main stage). On the side stage named the Sapphire Ballroom headliners included Morgan Page, Drezo, Skism B2B Trampa, and Valentino Khan & more. Our top 5 sets from Saturday night at Girlshredclips in order were 1) Skrillex, 2) Drezo, 3) Above & Beyond 4) Rezz, 5) Morgan Page. Skrillex really threw down some sick dubstep the first night, throwing in everything from Skrillex classics to his new ish, and it was a great way to kick off the festival as he performed early at 9:15pm. We really enjoyed Drezo at second best as this was our first time seeing him play live, and we were stunned at how good he was in person, he blew us away. Third came Above & Beyond, because their show was absolutely beautiful, as always! The tents sound system made it clear to hear their music, and the dark tent covers along with purple, blue, and white lasers made the ambiance setting perfect. Rezz our number 4 girl had the crowd going wild, and the energy was loud and sick! Finally Morgan Page at 5 with the old school classic EDM songs takes us home. Overall the Saturday night was stacked and great that you could go from one banger DJ to the next without any gaps in between.
Sunday was New Years Eve, and the lineup had nothing but bangers also. DJs 4B, Alison Wonderland, Marshmello, Ghastly, DJ Diesel, Ngtmre, & Eric Prydz headlined on the Diamond Atrium. Green Velvet, Anti Up, & Gryffin were over in the Sapphire Ballroom. Everyone threw down again on New Years Eve, but our top pick of the night goes out to DJ Diesel aka former Los Angeles Lakers player, Shaq! He was actually really good and threw down some heavy deep beats to ring in the New Year. There was no better way to countdown at Decadence than with DJ Diesel B2B Ngtmre!
All in all, Decadence Arizona was a HUGE success this year and we are so glad we were able to attend. We felt the festival was really clean, and had good vibes all around. It is now one of our West Coast favs for New Years Eve, and we are definitely going back. There are also a lot of beautiful places you can visit in Arizona before and after the festival for hikes and horseback riding. We were able to travel to the Superstition Mountains the Saturday before the festival, but there are also places such as Sedona for beautiful hikes, and Downtown Phoenix for clubs you can check out also! If you didn’t have the chance to attend this year’s Decadence Arizona event, we definitely recommend it for next year.
